QuickTime + Perian + AVI 5 Sec Problem
For those of you who are using a Mac, you probably know Perian (The swiss-army knife of QuickTime). If you want to watch .AVI files or TV Shows, perian is a must. I run into a problem recently with the last update of Perian v1.2. My QuickTime played video of 42 minutes in less than 5 seconds. I found the solution for fixing it.
Perian is a free, open source QuickTime component that adds native support for many popular video formats. The problem come from the version 1.2. You must downgrade to the version 1.1.4 to correct the problem. Once its done, you should immediatly see that your video who used to play in 5 seconds are now okay.
